Fresh Shoes - Lakai

September 27, 2006

Lakai Telford Neaux Dominion
I’m not gonna lie and pretend that I’ve known what Lakai is. Apparently, they are a brand of skate shoes that have been around for a little while. I must admit, that they make some damn nice stuff. The above retro-looking shoes are the Telford Neaux Dominion and the shoes below are the MJ-3 Highs.

Very Rare Nike SB P Rods

September 25, 2006

Nike P Rod
These are exlusive samples made for P Rod himself. That means, you can’t get them which is quite unfortunate because they are soaking in awesome-sauce. They remind me of Saved by the Bell for some reason, but that’s not a bad thing. I can’t look at them anymore, I think I want them too much. I curse the shoe gods who taunt me!! You hear me!!! Curse you!!

Polka Dot Bapesta

Polka Dot Bape
I must admit that I’m not a fan of the Original Bapestas, but these are Different. Bathing Ape has actually made shoes that don’t have bright, clashing, patent-leather, colors all over them. I’m surprised that polka dots are being released after the summer, they seem more like spring/summer shoes. Anyway, they look cool and remind me of dippin dots.

Adidas saigon
adidas material of the world
As part of a Materials of the World series, Adidas has released the exclusive Saigon. It is inspired by an outfit called an “Ao Dai” worn in tradional Vietnamese culture. They also have shoes inspired by Turkish and Mexican culture, these were just the coolest looking.

Nike Free polka dot
I guess polka dots are cool now because these free 5.0s from Nike are awesome. Usually I wouldn’t wear the Nike free’s unless I was running or working out, and it’s probably the same for these. At least you will be the one guy at the gym with the freshest shoes.

Jeremy Fish Nike SB Classics

Jeremy Fish Nike SB Classics
The SB classics are cool enough, as seen in a previous article here.
Artist, Jeremy Fish, has created some really cool Nike SB Classic variants. They sport a very intricate looking floral design that is reminiscent of a couch pattern or maybe some kind of fancy wallpaper. These are samples, so I really don’t know how you would be able to get your hands on them.

adidas skateboard shoes

adidas skateboarding shoes
With the popularity of the Nike SB line, adidas has decided to jump into the ring with their own skateboarding shoe line. The adidas skateboarding fall line has some nice color/material combinations. They are based on the stan smith and superstar models. They should be out this fall… and I don’t have much else to say other than they are RAD!!!

More Cool shoes : Macbeth

September 7, 2006

Macbeth Logo
Macbeth is a company started by the frontmen of Blink 182, Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus, though I’m not sure where ownership lies now that the band is no longer together. They’re shoe line is a mix of athletic, casual, and skate all with very classic designs and clean lines. For the animal friendly out there, they even have vegan variants of their shoes. Aside from being a shoe company, Macbeth sells the other basic accessories (hats, shirts, belts). Recently they have added a line of sunglasses called Macbeth Optics. They’re optics line consists of the typical rock and alt sport stylings you see cool hipsters running around in. All in all, very good.

Nike SB

Nike SB Collection

The hottest casual-wear shoes right now has got to be Nike’s SB line. You may have seen many of the colorful variants of the SB Dunks that shoe fiends collect, but I’m not talking about those rainbow monstrosities. I find the FC and Classic styles, while understated, to be way more functional and stylish without being obnoxious. The SB line does have traditional skateboarding shoes also (SB stands for skateboarding), with wider soles and fatter tongues, but traditional skater shoes have always looked way too bloated. The FC and Classic styles are a little more streamlined. I don’t really know how these shoes caught my attention, maybe it stems from a slight desire to start skateboarding.
